1.What
do you think about Hershey’s ERP strategy?
• Hershey lacked of professional
people to make decision and plan.
• Implementation is too fast and too
many.
• The Hershey employee were not
trained for the data system change.
• The software is too complex.
• Top management didn’t get involved
with decision making and such. They clash with each other because they don’t
know each other division.
2.
What lessons can be learned from the Hershey experience?
• Before
implementing ERP,we need to make planning to ensure the implementation is
success. In addition, the new implemented system must be able to support the
business process.
• When
implementing ERP,use safer approach so if the new system failure to be
implemented, they can revert back to their old system.
• Train
the worker to get use to the rigid data required system.
• A
team of top management must steer the launch of software.
• Functional
group must communicate with IT and IS on data request.
• Get
worker involved in process map
• It
would be better to implement some changes slowly even though it might increase
the cost and takes more time to be implemented.
• Avoid
use too many software at the same time.
